For - affordable, great for large designs
Against - not economical for small quantities.
Screen printing is one of the earliest methods of t shirt printing. It involves the passing of ink or any other printing medium through a mesh or 'screen' that has been stretched on a frame, and to which a stencil has been applied. The stencil openings determine the image that will thus be imprinted.
When screen printing, one color at a time is applied and costs increase with each additional color. Likewise separate screens are required for each color, and hence, screen charges may be uneconomical if only a small quantity of clothing is required.
There is a setup charge which covers the cost of having the design made into a screen or screens. This charge is a “one off” charge as the screens are then stored for up to 3 months. Therefore, if you wanted to place another order in the future with the same design there would be no setup charge up to the duration of 3 months only. If a set up charge is not added then Maxprint 2013 Limited has right to reclaim screens for other usage as there are limited screens to work due to increase customer demands.
